Matt Saunter
President
Matthew Saunter, the President of Kure Atoll Conservancy began work at Kure Atoll in 2010. He has been leading yearly field camps to the remote outpost since 2012 for the Department of Land and Natural Resources, Division of Forestry and Wildlife. Matt, born and raised in Hawaii attended Kamehameha Schools, Kapalama Campus. After receiving his B.Sc. in Natural Resources and Environmental Management from the University of Hawaii at Manoa Matt has worked with native plant specialists, the Oahu Invasive Species Committee, and cultural resource managers. Matt is committed to increasing the level of awareness and support for the atoll.
