The management of Kure Atoll as a Wildlife Sanctuary began after the US Coast Guard closed its LORAN station in 1993 and is the only Northwestern Hawaiian Island that is managed by the State of Hawaii. The State of Hawaii authorities recognize the need to restore and manage Kure Atoll, but the current budget crisis has impacted funding for environmental projects.
The National Fish and Wildlife Foundation has helped support our restoration efforts since 2011. But we also need private funding to help with the matching funds that are required by the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation. This is where you can help.
Kure Atoll Conservancy is stepping up to support the people and programs that will return Kure to a healthier, more pristine state. Your tax-deductible donation will help us in our mission to return Kure Atoll to a more natural state, free of invasive plants, insects and marine debris.
Any funds and equipment donated go directly to field operations and education.
